SHELBYVILLE — Bedford County’s property tax rate for fiscal year 2025–26 stays at $2.3252 per $100 of assessed value. Commissioners passed a balanced budget and left the rate where it was.
Budget materials break the levy into the usual pieces: general fund, highway, general-purpose schools, debt service, and capital projects. Those pieces still add up to $2.3252.
County notices also put a rough dollar value on each penny of the rate for planning, after typical delinquency. The fiscal year began July 1, 2025, and runs through June 30, 2026.
Not every personnel request from public safety agencies made the adopted package. County leaders said they would look for other ways to cover some of those needs. The full ordinance and fund schedules are available in the county’s adopted budget documents.
