SHELBYVILLE. The Shelbyville Board of Zoning Appeals has a special called meeting Wednesday, Oct. 21 in City Council Chambers at 100 N. Cannon Blvd.

On the agenda are two rear and side yard setback variance requests on small R-3 lots, plus a special exception for Cedar Glade Storage, a self-storage use on a 9.32-acre parcel. The storage case is listed for Alcorn Properties, LLC, on land zoned Planned Unit Development with a C-2 base.

The variance applicants named in the public notice are Leon Luke and Kiera Johnson, on a 0.13-acre non-complying parcel, and Robert Butts, on a 0.14-acre non-complying parcel. Both ask the board to ease strict rear yard setbacks under Art. V, Sec. 5.4.2(C). The first case also asks for side yard relief.

The meeting also includes approval of the Sept. 1 BZA minutes, election of a chair and vice chair, and a staff training item.

Questions can go to City Hall. We will report the outcomes after the meeting.
